Overview

I am a Part-time PhD student at Cardiff School of Mathematics, Cardiff University (since 2019). I am also an Assistant Lecturer within the Department of Statistics and Operations Research, University of Malta (since 2017).

Achievements:

  • Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in Mathematics and Statistics and Operations Research, University of Malta (first class classification)

  • Master of Science in Operations Research, University of Malta (with distinction)

Research

Research interests

  • Combinatorial Optimization (in particular, Vehicle Routing Problems)

  • Stochastic Modelling

  • Heuristic Algorithms

  • Mathematical Programming

Thesis

Heuristic and Exact Methods for School Transportation Problems

My PhD research delves into real-world problems of routing school buses using heuristic algorithms and mathematical models that consider both the costs incurred by the provider and the quality of service experienced by users.
