This module uses New HSK Course 4A (HSK 3.0), covering Lessons 1–5.
It develops upper-intermediate language skills through longer texts, more complex topics, and a wider range of vocabulary and grammatical structures.
On successful completion of the module a student will be able to:
- engage with more complex topics;
- understand longer dialogues and texts;
- express ideas with greater detail and accuracy;
- develop more structured spoken and written expression.
- demonstrate knowledge of approximately 1,250 Chinese words.

Learning and teaching
This course is for learners who have completed HSK 3 or equivalent study.
Teaching includes communicative practice, guided reading, discussion, grammar analysis, and structured speaking tasks.
