BEST Awards 2014

The Wales Deanery held their annual BEST awards earlier this week in the beautiful Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
The awards, hosted by the British Medical Association, honour Doctors and Dentists throughout Wales who have demonstrated excellence in their role. Categories include Primary Care, Secondary Care, Innovation in Education, and Clinical Service Innovation.
Winners on the night were Mr Owen Hughes; Urology Consultant at UHW, Dr Julie Keely; GP at Brecon Medical Group Practice, Dr Anand Ganesan; a specialty doctor in psychiatry and Dr Dennis Barnes; specialty doctor in Anaesthetics and Intensive Care in Morriston/Singleton Hospitals.
Dr Phil Matthews, Sub Dean and Head of the GP Specialty Training School was also awarded the Dean's Recognition award for services to medical education.
