CCI China Trip 2017

8 June 2017

Students pose ahead of their trip
Students from Cardiff Confucius Institute will visit China for two weeks.

This month 10 students from the Cardiff Confucius Institute (CCI) will be embarking on a 2-week trip to China.

The trip is funded by the Confucius Institute Headquarters and is open to those who have studied Chinese through Languages for All or Choices and who have attained a certain level of Chinese.

The trip will be a fantastic opportunity for students who will spend a few days in the capital Beijing, before travelling to the south of China to the beautiful city of Xiamen. Whilst in Xiamen the students will be hosted by Xiamen University and will gain a real insight into student-life in China. As well as language lessons and cultural activities, the trip will include plenty of sight-seeing opportunities in both cities – the Great Wall and the Bird’s Nest Stadium are just two items on the jam-packed itinerary!

This will be the first time that many of the students have visited China so the CCI has been busy providing cultural awareness sessions to prepare them for their travels.

These sessions also support students and staff from all over the University who are preparing to travel to China, and throughout the summer the CCI will continue to deliver sessions for the Business School, Social Sciences, the Global Opportunities Centre and many more schools and departments.
