Satisfaction amongst final year Mathematics students at Cardiff University has increased this year with 90% of Maths students saying they were satisfied with their overall student experience, according to the latest National Student Survey (NSS).

The NSS, which takes place annually, gives students the unique opportunity to rate their satisfaction with various aspects of their degree programme including the teaching, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management, learning resources, personal development and their overall satisfaction.

In this year’s survey, 96% of Mathematics students were satisfied with their learning resources, 86% were satisfied with both academic support and the organisation and management of their course and 85% were satisfied with their teaching, demonstrating the School’s ongoing commitment to continuous improvement.

These encouraging results highlight the efforts of the School to create a positive learning environment” explained Dr Jonathan Thompson, Director of Learning and Teaching at The School of Mathematics. “The results also showcase our excellent teaching quality, positive engagement with students and many development opportunities including professional placements and options to study abroad. We are delighted with the increase in student satisfaction, and will continue to strive to give our students the best possible learning experience.”
