Celebrating the class of 2017!

The School of Music held its 2017 Graduation ceremony on 20 July 2017 at St David’s Hall, Cardiff.
The ceremony was followed by a post-graduation reception at the University’s Aberdare Hall, bringing our graduates, family, friends and School of Music staff together for a wonderful celebration.
Head of School, Professor Kenneth Hamilton, welcomed the guests to Cardiff and congratulated the graduates for their hard work during the years they had studied at the School.
Following this, Professor Hamilton went on to present prizes to students who had been recognised for their achievements.
David Evans Memorial Prize
Awarded to meritorious students in the School.
David Lloyd Prize
Awarded to outstanding vocal recitalists.
Elizabeth Griffiths Donation Fund
Awarded to promote and encourage music in the University.
John Morgan Lloyd Scholarship
Scholarships awarded to students whose intention it is to make their careers in the practice or teaching of music.
Neville John String Prize
Awarded to the most deserving string player.
Paul Francis Prize
Awarded to an outstanding undergraduate brass player.
Sir Geraint Evans Prize
Awarded to students who are outstanding singers.
We hope all students and their guests enjoyed our celebrations and we wish the graduating class of 2017 the very best for the future.
