Another rise in the league tables for Music at Cardiff

Cardiff University Music Building

Music at Cardiff has risen to 13th place in the latest Guardian university league tables published this week.

The School has risen from 15th place in last year’s tables with the fantastic result of 96% of our students reporting overall satisfaction with our course, and 95.5% satisfied with quality of the teaching.

Rankings are determined by an overall score based on a combination of factors including student satisfaction results drawn from the National Student Survey (NSS), the percentage of students who have begun their career six months after graduation, and the staff-to-student ratio.

Professor Kenneth Hamilton, Head of the School of Music, said “We were delighted to see that the School of Music has moved from 15th to 13th in the UK. What’s more, four of those ranked above us are conservatoires (Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and Birmingham City), and so we are now ranked 9th among University Schools and Departments of Music in the UK.”
