Institute offering ‘Rising Star’ fellowships

We are offering 'Rising Star' Senior Research Fellow positions in compound semiconductor optoelectronic devices.

These prestigious and highly competitive five-year positions are designed to attract the very best ‘rising stars’ of academic research.

Research expertise and interest should be in the general device areas of nanostructures, integration, metamaterials, quantum communication. Applicants should have over seven years of experience since completion of PhD (or equivalent degree) and a scientific track record showing great promise.There are no mobility rules associated to this scheme; applicants can be international or currently based within the UK.

This position is associated with the Cardiff University Institute for Compound Semiconductors (ICS).  As a unique facility in Europe, the ICS and staff will be based in a new building equipped with state-of-the art fabrication and characterisation facilities including a full 8” fabrication line as well as a related small area process capability. We strive to enable novel research and development and strong engagement with industry, and will position Cardiff to become the UK and European leader in translational research in this area.
