Research Fellow in the School of Social Sciences, Dr Rachel Hurdley, recently joined radio presenter Lauren Laverne on BBC Woman's Hour to discuss the literal, sociological and psychological meanings of ‘home’  to different people.

Dr Hurdley is no stranger to the topic as her ongoing research interests include explorations of home, family, memory and identity as mundane practices - particularly focusing on materiality. She has also published several articles surrounding the topic as well as her book, Home, materiality, memory and belonging: keeping culture.

The programme which was originally broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on Friday 28 October also featured chef and author Trine Hahnemann, psychotherapist Susie Orbach, and podcaster and crafter Helen Zaltzman.

It can be listened to for free on the Late Night Woman's Hour programme page or by subscribing to the Woman's Hour daily podcast.
