Become a language partner with Languages for All!

30 September 2016

Language partners work together

Are you a fluent or advanced speaker of a language that isn’t English? Meet new people, improve your English and discover other cultures by becoming a language partner.

Languages for All (LfA) are looking for fluent/advanced speakers of the following languages to become language partners with their students:

  • Arabic
  • French
  • German
  • Italian
  • Japanese
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • Mandarin Chinese.

In exchange, you’ll be able to practise your English or another language, and make new friends. There are lots of other great reasons to become a language partner, including:

  • Discover more about life in the UK
  • Learn about other cultures and different ways of thinking
  • Get to know another country in more depth
  • Make contacts for your future career
  • Exchange ideas, tips and advice about living in Cardiff.

If you’re interested in joining the Language Exchange Scheme, sign up between 9:00 on Monday 3 October, and 23:59 on Sunday 9 October. You’ll receive your partner’s details by the end of October, so that you can get in touch with them and set up your first meeting.

This semester Languages for All will also be running a language café, where you’ll be able to practise languages in a relaxed group environment. Keep checking their News pages for further updates.

If you have any questions contact the Languages for All team at languagesforall@cardiff.ac.uk.
