94% of Cardiff University graduates are in employment, study or both within six months of graduating, according to new figures.

The latest Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education figures, show the percentage of full-time first degree leavers in 2014/15 who were employed, studying or both at 94.1%.

Whilst slightly down on the previous year (95.5%) the figure shows Cardiff University remains above the UK (93.9%), England (93.8%) and Wales (93.2%) average.

“Yet again these figures prove that Cardiff University graduates are highly sought after by employers and equipped with the right skills for further study,” according to the University’s  Pro Vice-Chancellor, Student Experience & Academic Standards, Professor Patricia Price.

“Our continued strength is testimony to our loyal and dedicated academic workforce and our commitment to providing our students with the skills they need for the workplace.

"Turning theory into practical application and providing experience of the working world are important facets of preparing our graduates for life outside of education.

"Advice is also available on work placements, internships, work experience and opportunities to enhance their CVs and broaden their horizons.

"As a result, we remain highly regarded by employers and have an excellent graduate employment record with students finding employment or entering further training," she added.
