Following a process of consultation and approval by the University Council, the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences is pleased to announce that a new School has been created which incorporates the activities of the former Schools of Healthcare and Nursing and Midwifery Studies.
The new School has been named the School of Healthcare Sciences, with Professor Sheila Hunt assuming the role of Dean and Head of School. The School encompasses nine fields across healthcare: Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging; Radiotherapy and Oncology; Intra and Perioperative Practice; Medical Illustration; Midwifery; Nursing; Occupational Therapy; Operating Department Practice and Physiotherapy.
Over the coming months the School will be updating its academic and professional support structures to ensure the needs of our students, professional bodies and external stakeholders are met.
