The School of Medicine announces new partnership with Limbs & Things Ltd to drive innovation in medical simulation

Cardiff University School of Medicine has announced a new strategic partnership with Limbs & Things Ltd, a global leader in medical simulation, to advance the development of high-quality training tools used across healthcare education.
The agreement brings together Cardiff’s academic and clinical expertise with the company’s internationally recognised capabilities in the design and manufacture of anatomically accurate simulation equipment.
Founded in 1990 and headquartered in Bristol, Limbs & Things designs, manufactures and supplies high-fidelity simulation products to more than 106 countries and plays a key role in developing simulation and clinical skills equipment for use across multiple undergraduate healthcare degree programmes and postgraduate CPD courses. The partnership reflects Cardiff University’s commitment to strengthening innovation in clinical education and enhancing patient care through evidence-based teaching and research.
Establishing our new partnership with Limbs & Things Ltd marks a significant step forward in advancing clinical education through high-fidelity simulation tools. By leveraging Cardiff University’s extensive expertise and network, we will collaborate to develop and innovate medical and simulation solutions that enhance clinical skills training – not only across Wales and the UK, but globally.
Through the collaboration, Cardiff University will provide expert consultancy and access to its extensive network of clinicians, educators and researchers,providing expert consultancy and drawing on an extensive network of clinicians and educators to inform and guide the development of advanced simulation technologies. By combining educational expertise with Limbs & Things’ specialist design and engineering capabilities, the partnership aims to generate new training solutions that respond to the evolving needs of healthcare systems in Wales, the UK and globally.
The agreement also strengthens opportunities for applied research, co-developed workshops and shared innovation, while supporting Cardiff University’s mission to deliver world-class medical education and expand its global partnerships.
