International summer school in youth mental health research continues to grow
26 July 2025
The 2025 Wolfson Centre international Summer School in Youth Mental Health Research has once again broken attendance records, attracting 154 participants from 33 countries.
Now in its fourth year, the summer school received 218 applications, with 182 places offered breaking the previous year records. The programme brought together early career researchers, clinicians, and students from around the world to learn from leading experts in the field.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with attendees praising both the quality of the talks and the opportunities to connect with an international network of peers.
Professor Frances Rice, co-director of the Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health at Cardiff University, said:
“It’s inspiring to see the summer school continue to grow each year. The enthusiasm and engagement of participants show how much interest there is in advancing youth mental health research globally.”
The success of this year’s summer school was made possible by the contributions of the invited speakers, who shared their expertise across a wide range of topics.
Thanks are also due to the organising team at the Wolfson Centre, whose hard work and commitment ensured the smooth running of the three-day event.
The summer school has quickly become a highlight of the Wolfson Centre’s calendar, reflecting both the demand for training in this area and the strength of the international community it brings together.
