IMITATE3 Researcher Presents at Cyberpsychology Conference 2025

24 July 2025

Attending the 2025 Cyberpsychology Conference provides excellent opportunity for IMITATE3’s early career researchers to share research insights.

Academics, students, practitioners and industry experts gathered in Birmingham on 9 – 10 July to discuss how the digital world shapes us at the annual Cyberpsychology Conference, hosted by the British Psychological Society (BPS).

A member of Cardiff University’s IMITATE3 team attended this two-day conference. It was a unique experience for an early career researcher to present their own research findings, explore other academic research topics, gain insights into methods across various fields, and network with other researchers.

Conference members presented on several topics from cyberstalking and AI in education to online dating and gaming. A member of IMITATE3 presented a poster on Chinese soft power in the form of political cartoons on social media.

Among the many highlights of the conference was a keynote speech from Oxford University’s Prof. Andrew Przybylski. Prof. Przybylski presented a roadmap for studying the current socio-technological landscape and its impacts on youth today. He also reflected on the value of evidence-based research across society, including researchers, practitioners and policymakers, something that deeply resonates with the work of the IMITATE3 team.
