Cardiff University Professor awarded prestigious Heinrich Hoffman Medal for pioneering work in ADHD

Professor Anita Thapar, a globally renowned expert in child and adolescent psychiatry, has been awarded the Heinrich Hoffman Medal by the World Federation of ADHD. This distinguished international accolade recognises a lifetime of outstanding contributions to clinical work, teaching, and research in Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).
The award was presented to Professor Thapar on 8 May 2025 in recognition of her decades-long dedication to advancing the understanding and treatment of ADHD. A leading figure at Cardiff University, her work has significantly shaped both academic research and public policy, influencing the development of ADHD services across the UK and beyond.
