Latest election research shared with Japanese delegation

A delegation from the Japanese embassy to the UK visited Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre to learn more about national identity and constitutional attitudes in the country.

Accompanied by Keith Dunn, Honorary Consul for Japan in Wales, officials from the embassy met with Ed Poole and James Griffiths of the Welsh Election Study team, and with Hedydd Phylip, lecturer in public law and devolution.

The delegation, which was undertaking a full programme developed by the Welsh Government, gained an understanding of the latest WES findings, including data on constitutional preferences, attitudes towards Welshness and Britishness, and voter behaviour.
