Wales Fiscal Analysis: Job Opportunity

2 February 2023

Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre is looking to recruit a new Research Assistant for its Wales Fiscal Analysis (WFA) team.

The WFA team is part of the wider Centre and researches public finances, taxation, public services and the Welsh economy.

Since its establishment in 2018, the team has continued to expand and grow its expertise, becoming a trusted and authoritative commentator on Welsh and UK budget events, devolved and non-devolved tax and spending, and also on constitutional matters.

While strong quantitative research skills are required in the role, formal and ad hoc training will be available when in post. The successful candidate would also become part of the friendly and supportive Wales Governance Centre environment, which offers an ideal workplace for people interested in analysing and studying Welsh politics.

The research post is available at Grade 5 (£28k-£33k), initially until April 2024.

Full details and guidance on how to apply are available here.
