Over the Summer, the Cardiff Undergraduate Research Opportunities Programme (CUROP) resumed after being paused throughout the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. CUREMeDE hosted two students this year, Pooja Kondath a medical student, and Shruti Narayan, a psychology student.

Pooja was co-hosted by CUREMeDE and Julie Browne in the School of Medicine and worked on a project titled ‘Investigating the knowledge and skills expected of an interprofessional healthcare educator’.

Shruti spent the summer working on a project titled ‘Well-Rounded Pharmacists: an employer guide to getting the most from multisector trained newly qualified pharmacists to benefit patient care’.

This month, Pooja and Shruti presented the work they had undertaken at an exhibition in the University’s Spark/Sbarc building. The event brought together all CUROP students from across the university to display their research, share their experiences, and disseminate their research findings to students and staff across the university.

It was great to see Pooja and Shruti exhibit the hard work they had undertaken over the summer and share their experiences with their peers. Professor Alison Bullock gave the following reflection on the event:

The poster exhibit was a showcase of student talent, and I was delighted that CUREMeDE has two contributions. Pooja and Shruti should be justly proud of their splendid posters
