Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre will join with partners from across the UK to give the devolved governments a platform to express concerns over the new Bill of Rights.

The UK Government has announced a consultation on replacing the Human Rights Act 1998 with a Bill of Rights that as things stand would fundamentally reduce legal protections for human rights in the UK, including in the way people interact with devolved laws.

In an online event on March 2nd, organised by the Human Rights Consortium in Northern Ireland, the Human Rights Consortium Scotland and the Wales Civil Society Forum, Government Ministers from Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland will set out their perspectives and concerns about the proposals.

The event is open to all but will be of particular interest to individuals and groups working in civil society the fields of human rights and the constitution. Registration is availabe here.
