The Children's Media Conference (CMC) is a UK gathering for everyone involved in developing, producing and distributing content to young people – on all platforms. It’s a time when delegates from across the whole industry get together to share insights and information.

As a doctoral researcher, our PhD student Simon Johns, was asked to produce a short documentary for the conference on how science and technology-based solutions marry with media to support and regulate the health and wellbeing of young people.

The video, available at the end of this page, focuses on how and why two UK cutting edge companies have created products which help to read and regulate emotions, to allow the younger generation to navigate through life in a more resourceful and resilient way.

The video also takes a closer look at the stories behind the creation of the resources, hearing from the scientists, doctors, teachers and children that use them and what opportunities are possible for future collaboration between universities and industry.
