Researcher delivers a webinar for students promoting science undertaken in Wales as part of British Science Week.
British Science Week is the annual celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths, featuring a range of entertaining and engaging events across the UK.
As part of British Science Week, the Welsh Government Office for Science has created a series of videos from prominent Sêr Cymru programme researchers throughout Wales. The Sêr Cymru programme is a multi-million-pound funding programme that brings scientific talent into research posts in Wales from across the globe.
The videos targeting A/AS level learners aged between 17 and 18 years old aim to share the research that some of Wales’ leading scientific researchers are developing.
Dr Aditee Mitra, School of Earth and Environmental Sciences, is undertaking research based on mixoplankton. In this Mixoplankton research video, Aditee explains the critical role that these tiny organisms play in our daily lives.
Dr Mitra is a research fellow specialising in systems dynamics modelling of plankton ecophysiology. She leads a Sêr Cymru Capacity Building Accelerator Award entitled “Living with the Perfect Beast; establishing MixoHUB, a centre of excellence for mixoplankton research in Wales”.
