Grangetown Virtual Career & Role Model Week

The Career and Role Model week is now in its fifth year and is one of the most popular events in the Community Gateway calendar offering both career and course advice to Grangetown residents of all ages.
This year, all events are taking place virtually due to COVID-19, but we still have a packed schedule with incredible interviews and insights.
Join us week commencing 29th June and let Cardiff University help you on your career journey.
What to Expect
Each day, residents will have the opportunity to attend a variety of sessions, ranging from different fields of study or employment opportunities at the University. Attendees can expect talks from lecturers and current students on courses and can attend Q&A sessions to ask questions and find out how to apply.
The Community Gateway volunteers will also have hour-long sessions each day introducing life at Cardiff University, societies, clubs and volunteering at the University, along with life as a student in Cardiff. During the week, residents are also given the opportunity to sign up to attend the University virtual Undergraduate open day!
Community Gateway has sought to encourage community members to take advantage of the diverse range of job opportunities available at Cardiff University by working closely with staff from the Human Resources and Careers and Employability teams who offer CV checks and careers advice. Information on getting involved with the Careers and Employability services, along with the Enterprise and Start-up team will be available throughout the week.
The Career and Role Models week has been incredibly successful with a number of local Grangetown residents gaining places on Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses at university – success that Community Gateway only hopes to build on in the future.
