Celebrating WSA international diversity

13 February 2020

International Day
PGR students at the celebrating international event

On the 13th February 2020 The Welsh School of Architecture celebrated the international diversity of its PGR community.

This event brought together, for the first time, the School’s large cohort of PhD students to celebrate both international diversity and the wide spectrum of high-quality original research.

Food, music and projection of architectural masterpieces from more than 20 countries from all the world’s continents were celebrated and shared in a joyful atmosphere. The afternoon-long event finished with a School wide evening guest lecture by Professor Ian Cooper (an alumnus of WSA) highlighting the importance of intangible heritage.

The event was initiated and organised by Dr Magda Sibley, Director of International, in collaboration with Dr Federico Wulff, Dr Hiral Patel and a team of volunteering PhD students.

The event has been a great success and a much larger-scale event will be organised in 2021 to celebrate the international dimension of WSA’s staff, undergraduate and postgraduate students.
