We recently bid a fond farewell to academics from Guizhou University with a certificate and gift giving ceremony, as their 3-month Innovative Teaching Practice Programme drew to a close.

The event was attended by Professor Kenneth Hamilton (Dean (International) for College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences), Professor Wen Jiang (School of Medicine), Emmajane Milton (Reader and Co-Director, Masters in Educational Practice (MEP), SOCSI), Dr Tom Hall (Head of School, SOCSI), staff from the School of Social Sciences and the CPD Unit, and staff from English Language Service.

Guests enjoyed an informal buffet reception at Cardiff University, following Poster Presentations from each delegate, which focused on a key area of teaching and pedagogical practice that they will develop when they return to China. The delegates also performed songs and a play to entertain the guests.

The 16 academics from Guizhou University arrived in Cardiff in September 2019 to undertake the Innovative Teaching Practice Programme which consisted of different elements, including teaching sessions from the School of Social Sciences, lecture observations within their own teaching discipline, English Language support and cultural excursions.
