First Central Square keynote lecture announced

Sir Harold Evans will deliver first keynote in Two Central Square this October.

Doyen of British journalism, Sir Harold Evans, will deliver the first public keynote to take place in the School of Journalism, Media and Culture’s new home – Two Central Square.

On Thursday, 4 October, 2018 the former Editor of The Sunday Times, The Times and currently Editor at Large for Reuters will discuss his lifetime in journalism, the current challenges for the profession and in the era of "fake news" why clarity of language and thought is more important than ever.

Director of the Centre for Journalism, Professor Richard Sambrook said, “It's a great pleasure to welcome a journalist of Sir Harold's standing to the University.

“His experiences in journalism as a reporter, columnist, broadcaster, author and editor will give us rich insight into the changing nature of journalism.”

Sir Harold is currently editor-at-large for The Week Magazine and is a contributor to The Guardian and BBC Radio 4.
