On Monday 2 July, Cardiff Confucius Institute hosted a one-day follow-up revision course for teachers who had previously attended the Mandarin Immersion Course.

The Immersion Course, which has been running since 2012 and is funded through the Wales China Schools Project, allows local teachers to take part in a three-day residential intensive basic Mandarin course to all allow them to be able to assist their Chinese language assistant in the classroom. This one-day follow-up course focused on revising and consolidating prior learning, as well as introducing new Mandarin Language.

Teachers from Millbrook Primary, Sully Primary, Ysgol Aberconwy and Our Lady’s RC Primary school, Bangor attended the training.

Melissa Parry from Sully Primary said, ‘the one-day course was excellent and extremely useful and I will be teaching some of the things we went over during this week in school.’

The Mandarin Immersion course will be running again during the autumn term 2018 and will now include regular follow-up revision courses.
