The QS ranking now places the School amongst the very best institutions world-wide.

The School of Journalism, Media and Culture has risen for the second consecutive year in the prestigious QS World Rankings by Subject.

An improvement of eleven places upon 2017's result means the School is ranked as Europe's fourth best Communications and Media studies School and 23rd globally.

Whilst UK-based ranking tables from the Guardian and the Sunday Times have consistently identified the School as one of the best providers of Communications and Media Studies degrees, the QS ranking now places the School amongst the very best institutions world-wide.

The results, which are compiled annually to help prospective students identify the leading universities in a particular subject, draw on research citations data, along with the results of major global surveys of employers and academics to rank universities.

Head of School Professor Stuart Allan welcomed the QS Ranking's continued recognition of the School's teaching and research excellence. He said, "It's very important that our UK, EU and international applicants apply to us with confidence, and this global profile helps us to achieve this aim."

"Students arriving this September will do so in the knowledge their degree is of the highest academic and professional standards, and will be delivered within a School equipped with the latest learning facilities, technology and resources."
