Dr Davide di Martino

Associate Lecturer in Architectural Design

Trosolwg

Davide graduated in architecture from IUAV University in Venice, Italy, after a year of studies at ETSAB - the School of Architecture of Barcelona, Spain. He carried on studying to obtain a postgraduate Masters Degree in Design Within Historical Contexts and a PhD in Ecological Planning and Urban Design from the University Federico II of Naples, Italy. After moving to the UK in 2013, Davide was fortunate to join Ian Ritchie Architects, working on several residential schemes and competitions. Eventually, he decided to pursue his architecture opportunities and founded Unagru in 2018. Unagru is currently a practice of four employees mainly working on private residential and small collective projects and urban design research and competitions.

Davide's research interests revolve around the intersection between humans and nature, or what we would call Ecology. He is interested in water as a scarce resource and an incredibly powerful vehicle for urban structuring and reclamation. He is also interested in the theme of critical architecture, architectural practice flows of materials and energy, and urban economy.
