Trosolwg

I am a political communication and policy scholar especially interested in the integration and impact of digital technology in politics. media and society. My work explores all aspects of this relationship, drawing on ideas of evolving authenticity and representation.

I joined Cardiff JOMEC in 2020 and am presently Postdoctoral Research Associate on a two year AHRC-funded project Countering Disinformation: Journalistic Legitimacy in Public Service Media, researching disinformation reporting and its impact on audiences. Prior to this I was Postdoctoral Research Associate at The Sir Bernard Crick Centre, The University of Sheffield.

Bywgraffiad

I earned my PhD in Politics at Royal Holloway's New Political Communication Unit in 2018, where I investigated contemporary British MP constituency activities and their use of social media by carrying out an ethnography with British MPs over a period of 24 months. I hold an MA in Public Policy from King's College London, and an MSc in Politics (New Political Communication) from Royal Holloway. I also have experience working in think-tanks, third-sector organisations and consultancies in Singapore and the UK.

I am passionate about drawing on innovative methods to gain intimate insights into politics and society. I am a mixed-method researcher and am well-versed in drawing on a mix of methods in digital media research such as ethnography, semi-structured interviews, and diary studies. I am particularly interested in the practical and ethical challenges of digital media research.
