I qualified as a staff nurse in 1996 and worked in different hospitals in Muscat, then I completed Diploma in Midwifery in 2001 and worked as a midwife in a tertiary hospital in Muscat. Then I worked for one year in a local Hospital. My interest is to teach in midwifery programme, so I joined the team as a clinical instructor in 2003. After that I completed Master Degree in University of Central Lancashire in 2006. In 2011 I was a pointed as a Head of Midwifery Programme until 2014 when I decided to come for PhD studies. I leaded many modules in the midwifery on rotation include  Professional Midwifery Practice, Reproductive and sexual health, Introduction to Intrapartum Care, Post-neonatal Care, Altered Health in Childbirth,  Obstetric Emergencies and Developing Autonomous Practitioner. I supervised students in many clinical areas include Antenatal ward, postnatal ward and delivery suite. I Have been supporting students in the primary health care centres in antenatal clinic and well baby clinic.

I was a member in different committees include, the Oman Nursing and Midwifery Council, the Oman specialized Nursing Institute Council, the Midwifery Core Group, the Obstetric and Gynaecology Committee, the Quality assurance committee at OSNI, the Human Resources Taskforce A member in the curriculum Review Committee at OSNI and a member in Examination and recruitments for Directorate of Nursing and Midwifery Affairs.

I am currently in third year of PhD in school of healthcare. The title of the study is “Expanding the midwife’s role in screening for gestational diabetes in primary health care in Oman”. The aims of the study are to determine the current implementation of the GDM guidelines in primary health care institution, and to develop a midwifery service model for the screening, and diagnosis of pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus in Oman.
