Research Interests
I'm currently a postgraduate research student within the Operational Research group at the School of Mathematics. My research interests include simulation methods, optimisation, mathematical programming, queueing theory and machine learning, applied to healthcare systems. My thesis title is 'Modelling the Reconfiguration of Acute and Community Health Services', which I am working on in collaberation with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board to help improve their services.

Modelling the Reconfiguration of Acute and Community Health Services
My thesis is done in collaboration with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board (CVUHB), with the title of “Modelling the reconfiguration of acute and community health services”. As part of its Shaping Our Future Wellbeing Strategy, the health board intends to improve services and patient pathways so it can deliver higher quality, sustainable, person-centred healthcare by 2025. The COVID-19 pandemic has complicated matters, placing increased strain on services, waiting lists and patient outcomes.
Currently, I am working with the Trauma and Orthopaedics department at CVUHB, using simulation and optimisation methods to help model the elective care services in the department, with the aim of improving patient flow and outcomes.
