Overview
Liuyu is a PhD candidate in Economics at the Cardiff Business School, with the support of the Julian Hodge Bank. His research is primarily in Macroeconomics, with a keen interest in the Open Economy and News Shocks. His thesis explores how news shocks influence the fluctuations of China's exchange rate. In addition to his research endeavours, Liuyu has amassed considerable teaching experience, having conducted numerous tutorials across a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Cardiff Business School. Liuyu also shows interest in finance, having passed the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Level 2 in 2022.
Prior to joining Cardiff University, he obtained a Bachelor‘s degree in Public Finance from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL) in Wuhan, China.
