Routes Cymru A-Level Masterclass: La Classe part 2 by Richard Chester

Routes into Languages Cymru and partner universities are offering a series of film and literature workshops to A level students. The workshops are designed to support delivery of the Modern Foreign Language (MFL) curriculum and aim to improve existing levels of knowledge and understanding for the student.

Through the analysis of key topics, such as main themes and characters, the workshops aim to strengthen the students’ comprehension and generate further discussion and thought. This event also gives teachers the opportunity to obtain information from the HE tutors whilst establishing links with the university.

Synopsis: Teacher and novelist François Bégaudeau plays a version of himself as he negotiates a year with his racially mixed students from a tough Parisian neighborhood.

Richard Chester a resident of Conwy, and from 2009 until 2012 and studied Film at Bangor University in North Wales, graduating with a 2.2. After a spell of writing theatre reviews upon graduation, he began in February 2015 writing film reviews for Wales Express, which he is still doing now and is approaching the 100th publication, to be written in December. Richard is currently developing his first book which is called A History of European Cinema: 1960-Present Day, focusing on 8 countries of which the UK will be one of them. France, Italy, Poland, Germany, Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic, Romania and Hungary are the others. He has also developed several lectures of which he will be delivering one for Cardiff University in January. He hopes you enjoy hearing what he has to say as much as he enjoyed researching them.
