Research workshop - Biomaterials: From Bench to Bedside

The Cardiff Institute of Tissue Engineering and Repair (CITER) and the Cardiff Materials Research Network (CMRN) are delighted to be hosting the first joint workshop on Biomaterials: From Bench to Bedside.

The aim of this half-day workshop is to help academics translate their biomaterial technologies into the clinic for patient benefit. The objectives are to:

1. Gain insight into the regulatory pathway of biomaterials
2. Learn about a range of GLP pre-clinical models to demonstrate safety and efficacy of biomaterials
3. Understand the process of developing and registering a clinical trial for a biomaterial
4. Become familiar with funding routes to translate your biomaterial into clinic
5. Hear first-hand experiences from academics who have commercialised/translated biomaterials

The event will host a range of speakers, consisting of regulatory experts, pre-clinical testing specialists, clinical trials co-ordinators, funding advisors and industry with examples of biomaterial technologies in pre-clinical and clinical stages.

The event is free to members of CITER and CMRN. There is a £30 fee for non-members in Cardiff University and external CITER members. Please contact citer@cardiff.ac.uk.

A buffet lunch will be provided between 12:00 - 13:00 and a drinks and networking session will take place following the workshop between 17:00 - 18:00.
