Join us for a behind-the-scenes tour of the Amgueddfa Cymru-National Museum Wales economic botany collection and herbarium as part of Cardiff University’s Sustainability Week.

The museum"s economic botany collection features a range of plant specimens that are considered to have societal benefit including medicinal plants, food products, natural dyes and tannins, seeds, gums and resins. The herbarium hosts a quarter of a million specimens of vascular plants.

You"ll get a chance to look at a range of plants with medicinal properties both past and present, from Devil"s Pepper to Dragon"s Blood and a familiar spice used as a primary ingredient for the vaccine Tamiflu.

Meet us in the main hall of the National Museum Cardiff at the main reception desk at 12pm.
