Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration

We warmly welcome you to celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival through music.

The evening, organised by the Welsh Government, Cardiff Confucius Institute and the School of Music, will showcase musical performances by the Traditional Orchestra of Shandong University, consisting of teachers and students majoring in Traditional Chinese Instruments at the Fine Arts School of Shandong University. The Traditional Orchestra has been widely praised for the virtuosity and high spirit of its members, and this can be seen as they perform on a wide range of traditional folk instruments, from the better-known Pipa and Erhu, through to lesser-known Sheng and Suona.

The evening promises to be a fascinating journey through Chinese folk music, and will also include performances from students from Ysgol Cwm Rhymni and Cardiff University School of Music.
