Biostatistics Network Launch Event

Date: Friday, 26th July 2024

Time: 09:30 to 14:00

Venue: The Bute Building, Room 0.15

Registration Deadline: 26th June 2024

This event is open to Staff and PGRs at Cardiff University.

Cardiff University boasts a wealth of biostatistics expertise across various disciplines. However, a lack of cohesion hinders collaboration and external recognition of this expertise.

This launch event, funded by the HEFCW Research Culture Grant 2024, will bring together staff and PGRs from the College of Biological Life Sciences (CBLS) and the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering (CPSE) for a productive half-day workshop to establish a new Biostatistics Network.

We envisage the Biostatistics Network will convene previously siloed expertise and foster a sense of cross-College community.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.

The event's goals are to:

  • Establish the Network's structure and governance.
  • Develop an inventory of biostatistical expertise and research.
  • Collaboratively design a user-friendly, external-facing website to showcase the Network's expertise.
  • Schedule future meetings/events to maintain momentum and build a strong, connected biostatistics community.

Please register to attend via the following online form: Biostatistics Network Launch so that we can confirm numbers for catering.

Registration deadline: 26th June 2024.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,

Dr Sarah Christofides and Dr William Kay
