Chinese Insights: The Chinese Zodiac and Chinese Characters

Our Chinese Insights talks, led by tutors from the Cardiff Confucius Institute, are a great opportunity to learn more about Chinese culture and language.

Chinese Zodiac

Introducing the story of Chinese Zodiac and twelve animal signs in Chinese Zodiac. You will also have the opportunity to find your own Chinese Zodiac.

Chinese Characters

Explore the mysteries of Chinese Characters. We will introduce the invention and evolution of Chinese Characters and fun Character games, and provide an experience of writing Chinese Characters.

Event format

The event will take place in person.

Simultaneous translation

The event will be delivered in the medium of English. You are welcome to ask questions in the medium of Welsh during the Q&A session. If you intend to do this, please contact mlang-events@cardiff.ac.uk by Thursday 14 March to request simultaneous translation.

Please note that 10% or more of those planning to attend will need to request this provision in order for it to be sourced and will be subject to resource availability.
