Cardiff University Act of Remembrance 2023

This year, Armistice Day falls on a Saturday and as such, staff, students, alumni and members of the public are invited to attend the university’s Act of Remembrance on Friday 10 November 2023, led by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Wendy Larner, Co-ordinating Chaplain, Rev. Delyth Liddell & the University Multi-faith chaplaincy.

Those who wish to attend are asked to assemble in the John Viriamu Jones (VJ) Gallery, Main Building by 10:50am to allow proceedings to begin on time.

We will be filming the event live and those who wish to watch the University’s Act of Remembrance online and observe the two-minute silence can do so on the University’s website from 10:55.

Please note that access to the VJ Gallery from the horseshoe drive entrance of Main Building will be closed from 10.50am - 11:20am and access from the main entrance will only be permitted for those attending the Act of Remembrance during this time. There will be no access to the first-floor gallery from the VJ Gallery for the duration of the Service and access to the Science Library will be restricted.

Access through Main Building via the School of Chemistry and School of Earth and Environmental Sciences entrances will not be affected.
