Paul Higgins MBE was integral to the creation of Media Cymru - an early-stage believer, ideas man and champion.

Working in the media sector for more than 40 years, Paul inspired others through his visionary work, his mentorship and his commitment to sharing knowledge and developing people.

The annual Paul Higgins Legacy Lecture will have these themes and values at its centre, educating and networking those in the sector, and specifically encouraging those looking to enter the media industry.

The inaugural lecture will focus on Paul’s passion for investing in and supporting local talent with a talk from Producer John Giwa-Amu, CEO of Good Gate Media about his work and activity in Wales and across the world on titles including Don’t Knock Twice, The Machine, The Party, Deathtrap Dungeon and Count Me In. The Newport Film School alum worked closely with Paul during his career and credits him with giving him the inspiration, encouragement and mentoring to start his new company Good Gate Media.

Join us from 6pm on Thursday, 5 October to hear from John Giwa-Amu, network with those working in the media in South Wales and celebrate the life of Paul Higgins.
