Whether you’re studying for a Bachelors, Masters or PhD, or just fancy hearing about some fascinating research, the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition is a fun and inspiring way to spend an afternoon.

In the competition, doctoral students from across the university are challenged to present their research in just three minutes, using only one slide. This means you’ll hear about a diverse range of research projects, each in three easy to digest minutes. A panel of judges then decides who will go through to the national semi-finals (and hopefully the finals!). The audience can also vote for their favourite, who will be awarded the ‘People’s Choice' award.

The competition offers a unique glimpse into the world of the PhD, as well as a chance to see a wide range of presenting styles in action, and you might even pick up a few tips for your own presentations. After the competition, you will also have the chance to socialise with other students over refreshments.

You can find out more about the competition on the Vitae Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) web pages.
