Dr Yulia Shenderovich, Senior Lecturer, Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health & Centre for the Development and Evaluation of Complex Interventions for Public Health Improvement, Cardiff University

We have been learning about the links between family experiences and young people’s mental health over the past decades. As far as we can tell, there are important differences between context, but also some similarities, such as physical punishment being associated with worse outcomes for young people.

Researchers around the world, including our team, are designing and testing programmes to improve family relationships, and the presentation will share some findings from this work, and future plans.
