As Wales’s footballers take to the field for their opening World Cup fixture in November, it will bring to an end 64 years of pain and frustration for its supporters. But what are the wider implications for our nation, and what broader openings are there for Wales from this unprecedented and unparalleled chance to showcase Wales on a global platform? What greater marketing opportunity could there be than to see “Cymru Vs USA” appear on 5 Billion television screens at the start of that first match on November 21st?
On Thursday November 10th, Professor Laura McAllister will be joined at Cardiff Business School by Noel Mooney, Chief Executive of the Football Association of Wales for a conversation about both the success of our Football team, and how the FAW is seeking to make this a sustainable achievement rather than a once-in-a-lifetime event, as well as those broader implications for “Brand Cymru”.
