Join Cardiff University's Symphonic Winds for a spring concert of storytelling by Welsh and English composers. Alongside Guy Woolfenden's popular Illyrian Dances, a suite which adapts material from the composer's work with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the ensemble will play Nicola Renshaw's A Star Danced, a fizzing take on the romance of Much Ado About Nothing. Gareth Wood's Legends of the Bear brilliantly evokes scenes from the legend of King Arthur, and we are proud to present a world premiere performance of Point of View, a telling of the story of Blodeuwedd from the Mabinogion by School of Music PhD candidate Lucy McPhee.
