Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common condition occurring in between 5-13% of young women under the age of 20. Whilst the physical effects of PCOS on reproductive function are well documented, there is a growing awareness that PCOS can also have a significant long-term effect on mental and cardiometabolic health. Join Dr Aled Rees Professor of Endocrinology based at the Cardiff University Neuroscience & Mental Health Research Institute to hear how his research at Cardiff is identifying the neuroendocrine factors that underpin these risks, with a view to improving screening and treatment interventions for patients.
