Global Language Based Area Studies: Short Methods Papers

This event has ended.

An online workshop with four PhD students from Cardiff University: Elin Arfon, Eira Jepson and Elena Barron-Himsworth (School of Modern Languages) and Katherine Williams (School of Law and Politics). The event is organised by the Global Language-based Area Studies research theme at the School of Modern Languages.

Three short methods papers will be given and will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

Paper 1: ‘Virtual encounters: interviewing in a digital world’ by Elena Barron-Himsworth.
Paper 2: ‘Conducting Feminist Research with Anti-Feminist Subjects’ by Katherine Williams.
Paper 3: ‘Creative Methods’ by Elin Arfon and Eira Jepson.

Simultaneous Translation
The event will be delivered in the medium of English. You are welcome to ask questions in the medium of Welsh during the Q&A session. If you intend to do this, please contact mlang-events@cardiff.ac.uk by Wednesday 10 March to request simultaneous translation. Please note that 10% or more of those planning to attend will need to request this provision in order for it to be sourced and will be subject to resource availability.
