Blood clots: the universal health issue of our times

Blood clotting is a normal process and protects us from excess bleeding. However there is a fine balance between too much and too little clotting and both can lead to serious disease and often death. Researchers in Cardiff are working to better understand how to control clotting in order to tackle big killer diseases.

Join Professor Val O’Donnell, Co-Director of Systems Immunity Research Institute, discussing how her teams are investigating clots across a spectrum of diseases. Joining her will be Professor Peter Collins, Clinician and Professor of Haematology, demonstrating how research at Cardiff into bleeding at the time of childbirth has changed health policy and improved women’s lives across Wales.
