The Covid-19 pandemic is challenging for everyone and people will respond to their experiences in different ways. Common, normal reactions have included positive emotions such as a feeling of togetherness and hope, along with negative emotions such as anxiety and lowered mood.
Some people have developed more severe reactions, including grief, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Professor Jon Bisson will describe what is currently known and introduce the work of Cardiff University’s National Centre for Mental Health that aims to provide a greater understanding of the impact of Covid-19 on people with lived experience of mental health problems.
