Cardiff University’s Wales Governance Centre is pleased to announce a Public Webinar to discuss the criminal courts in Wales in light of the Covid-19 outbreak.

The event will discuss the significant and urgent changes to criminal courts that have brought into question some of the fundamental aspects of the criminal justice system in England and Wales. We will hear from a practising barrister and solicitor and from the Victims Commissioner in England and Wales about the impact recent reforms have had on the victims of crime.

Panellists:

  • Dr Huw Pritchard (Wales Governance Centre)
  • Jonathan Rees QC (Apex Chambers)
  • Dame Vera Baird QC (The Victims Commissioner for England and Wales)
  • Katy Hanson (Managing Director, Welch & Co)

We are taking questions in advance to help facilitate the event. There will, of course, be a Q&A during the event. However, if you wish to submit a question in advance, please send it to PritchardH3@cardiff.ac.uk by 10am on Tuesday 30th June.
